Are you afraid of the dark?

What Big Eyes You Have uses small machines that produce strange shadows to recreate the unknowns that lurk in dark places.

Van Sowerwine works across the areas of stop motion animation, interactives, miniatures and comics. She is a graduate of RMIT Media Arts (Honours 2001) and has exhibited nationally and internationally.

Recent works include Expecting, (with Isobel Knowles) as part of the Experimenta House of Tomorrow exhibition held in Melbourne in 2003 and touring nationally in 2004. Other recent projects include Play With Me, an interactive installation set in a cubby house, and Small Horrors (with Camilla Hannan), an installation combining sound, video and miniatures.

Van was recently awarded a Film Victoria Short Film Fund grant (with Philippa Campey) for Clara, a 5 minute stop-motion animation she is directing in 2004.
