We're Only Circling

We’re going for a ride.

Yes Yes. C’mon ride as fast as you can. Faster faster. No, take your time. We’ve got all day. It’s a leisurely kind of day. Go left. Sorry, did I say left, I meant forward. No matter, there are many more forks in the road.

But where are we going?
You’d like to rest?
You will note from the map there is no final resting point.
Around again. Around again.
Oh look, you are here. Now. C’mon, keep it up. You’ll make it alright. With time to spare.
Weeeeee…

Why are you screaming? We’re only circling.

Narinda Reeders graduated from VCA photography in 2003. She has a number of sides to her practice, encompassing video installation, photography and performance. Her video work, exhibited here, explores notions of time, psychological framing, and narrative framing. Action takes place in miniature constructed worlds. Still tableaux provide the foreground to repetitive leisure activities. Repetition time takes over from narrative time and new imaginative spaces are opened up.
