“Tension 10”

Timothy Kendall Edser’s art practice at this particular point of time is based predominantly based on a series of performance installations entitled “Tension”. West Space gallery will be host to the 10th performance in this series of installations.

Throughout these works there is an investigation of masculinity and identity, localised within an exploration of the emulation of masculinity and the male body, relating to notions of identity as performative and the inherent passivity of the masculine gaze.

This “Tension” performance installation centres itself around the performer’s body, both internally and externally. The body becomes a scientific discovery, where the body is mapped through its ability to move within space, objects, substances, and the environment.

The performance can be viewed live for one night only on the opening evening, or through documentation throughout the duration of the exhibition.
