Teena’s Bathtime: Eau de Wet Dogge
David Capra
12 Feb → 12 Mar 2016

Join David Capra and Teena the Dachshund for the Melbourne launch of Eau De Wet Dogge. This new fragrance celebrates the artist's dog's infamous bath time. Moist fur, soap suds and soil unite at the base to give this perfume a uniquely musky charm. Sour top notes of slobber and dog breath add alluring nuance. A new video advertisement starring the charismatic sausage dog will be presented in conjunction with the launch. A free dog wash will be available to the general public and their furry pals as well as perfume samples and alcoholic punch inspired by Teena's unforgettable fragrance.

Describing himself as an ‘intercessory artist’, David Capra looks at ways of prompting healing experiences for individuals and community. Capra explains, ‘ The more I think about healing, I think it entails facilitating projects that give people your undivided time. I think healing will occur in those circumstances.’

The official launch of Eau De Wet Dogge will be Tuesday 8 March from 5pm.

Eau de Wet Dogge is supported by the City of Melbourne through Arts House as part of FESTIVAL OF LIVE ART 2016. Is is also an extension of Teena’s Bathtime, a project commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia for the Jackson Bella Room. Eau de Wet Doggie is also presented as part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival‘s Cultural Program Project Series 2016.

David Capra’s work can be described as intercession; practices that initiate healing. His projects bring together performance, dance, localities and communities.
