Invite Text:

Ghostwork is a series of low relief sclptural panels that recreate images from old family photographs.

There are no known stories attatched to these images.

Thousands of black tacks are used to nail remnants of old handicrafts onto white panels.

Through a process of retrieval and reconstruction this work attempts to articulate a sense of dislocation, absence and loss.

Susan Wirth most recently exhibited in group shows, Resistance is Useless, First Draft (2003) and produced solo performance and installation at Conical Gallery (2003).

Photography by Christian Capurro.
