Soo-Joo Yoo’s work is concerned with the anxiety and unsettling feelings experienced in her everyday life. Through her work, she seeks to question where this anxiety arises from and what the forces are that she attempts to resist, namely the confusion, loss and desire within her life. The aim of her work is to explore this emotional and psychological tension, the conflicting forces within her inner self, in relation to the outside world.

Soo-Joo Yoo was born in Korea and completed her Masters of Visual Art at the Victorian College for the Arts in 2006. She mainly works with installation, using vinyl, staples, elastics bands, ribbons and foils.
