Object Lessons
Anthony Johnson
12 Sept → 27 Sept 2003

My work derives from an interest in the structural facade of society and the inconsistency between ‘high’ and ‘low’ representations of material and objects within the urban environment.

As with all the work in Object Lessons, the banality leaves you only to contemplate that which is here and now, forever failing to live up to the unobtainable utopian dream.

Anthony Johnson was born in 1974 and grew up in suburban Sydney before moving to Hobart in 2000 where he now lives and works. He has exhibited extensively over the past several years both locally and nationally, and was recently reviewed in Artlink for an exhibition at Inflight, Hobart.
