Dressing Down
Juile Vinci's work concentrates upon the role of women in society and
within familial structures. The act of passing on objects from one
generation to the next provides continuity in a changeable world, and
these objects, though un-appealing and often seemingly mundane in a
modern aesthetic, become desirable objects of cultural memory. Dressing
Down explores the ideas of actual and cultural memory, comparing the
two and discovering how, over time, they may become the same.
