The artists integrated the existing structures and environment of The West Wing into a temporary structure that referenced the ideologies and techniques expressed in shelter manuals and Whole Earth catalogues from the 1960s and ‘70s. The project considered the site’s historical past as a lead factory and reflected upon the historical remains of that building, furthering the concept of structures within structures, new surrounding old.
