He was less invested presents an installation of photographic and sculptural works. Through formal decisions in the image-making process, the rhetoric of impartiality associated with the photographic is tested against its capacity to bear witness to the motivations, prejudices and transgressions of the photographer. The inventory of subject matter for both image and sculpture functions as stand-ins for a compromised body, where discretion, embodiment and redemption are at stake.

Jack Brown is a Melbourne-based artist who graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts with a BFA Honors in 2014.
