Harmonia was based on the collaboration of six visual artists with six sound artists to produce installations on site at West Space. Harmonia addressed the interdisciplinary approaches that many younger artists have been using over the last few years with sound.

The project included a live performance by three sound artists, and was part of the 2000 Next Wave Festival. A CD and publication was produced as a document of the the project and to extend its reception further especially into the sound art/experimental music arena.

Jane Polkinghorne’s practice merges video, performance, photography and installation often in collaboration. Her work focuses on a critical and humorous examination of the pathos and horror of the gendered body. They situate their work within contemporary and historical feminist discourses, operating from a fascination with how disgust manifests and is often contained and provoked through humour. In February 2019 Jane relocated to Victoria and currently lives in Harcourt.
