“Fashion Rules”
Chicks on Speed and Fairwear

Fashion Rules was a collaboration between Fairwear and Chicks on Speed which resulted in a cross-media exhibition that explored fashion as a form of political intervention. Fairwear are well known for its campaigning for the rights of outworkers in the footwear, clothing and textile industries in Australia, while Chicks on Speed are a transnational electronic pop group that subverts music and fashion industry conventions through their performances and exhibitions.

The opening performance involved Audra from TDM Clothing creating an imitation Chanel Laptop bag for Chicks on Speed and Fairwear Campaign.

The exhibition was presented as part of the Melbourne Fashion Festival.
