Extended Moment
Jeremy Eaton
22 Mar → 13 Apr 2013

Extended Moment is the continuation of a spatial and sculptural investigation that will morph, accumulate and collapse over the duration of the exhibition. Utilising the backspace as a transient site, Jeremy will create a materially suggestive composition that will subtly vary in tone on a daily basis. Drawing in multiple references, the work aims to consider the way objects are capable of stretching a moment through the memories, narratives and impressions that we attach to them. In this space objects can come to feel like scraps or detritus- acting as fragile traces that describe intimate encounters.

Jeremy Eaton recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts with First Class Honours at Victorian College of the Arts and Music. Jeremy’s practice spans sculpture, installation, photography, drawing and collage. In 2013 Jeremy completed a collaborative installation, Smokescreen, with Elizabeth Pedler at TCB. In 2011 Jeremy participated in the Wallara Travelling Scholarship at the Margaret Lawrence Gallery and completed a temporary sculptural work for Victoria Harbour, Docklands. He has also participated in group shows at the George Paton Gallery and Kurb ARI in Perth.
