Sometimes it’s a void that wants filling, but the gallery space can also flex its muscles as a solid, impregnable boundary.

Divorced from various comic books, dispossessed, reoriented motion lines form a peculiar bunch and waft in from outside.

Evidence suggests that the process of fashioning this clump of nothing into a Gallery 2 shaped brick has not been without incident.

Jen Cabraja has been living, working and exhibiting in Melbourne for three years. She has shown elsewhere, including Sydney and Hobart. Her training was completed at Sydney College of the Arts a few years ago. Jen likes comics and buildings.

This project was sponsored by the NAVA Visual and Craft Artists' Grant, managed by NAVA with financial assistance from the Visual Arts/ Craft Board of the Australia Council, the Simpson-Michel Foundation and Pat Corrigan.
