Loaded Invite Text: Briele Hansen's practice explores relationships between the environment andperceptual processes. By noticing the actual, Briele attempts to frame perception as a complex, layered transitional event, through the use of technology and installation. She asks questions about reality, the present and lived experience. Briele Hansen was born in Australia, grew up in New Zealand and has spentseveral years living in Europe. In 2004 she completed Masters of Art by Research in Video Installation at RMIT. She has also studied Photography in New Zealand and Painting in Italy. She now resides in Melbourne and works with video installation, interactive public installations, performance and photography. Recent works include A lane Away (City of Melbourne Laneway Commission, 2004), Sensing Experience (GossardStudio, Melbourne, 2004), A Cloud of Bags (In collaboration with Louise Lavarack), Adrift (Conical Gallery, 2001) and Spacessense (First Site Gallery, Melbourne, 2000).
