Louise Hubbard (b.1957 Bris, Qld) teaches at the VCA School of Art. Her art practice is anthropomorphic by nature and she is concerned with transforming found objects, particularly moulded polystyrene. Whilst she has a particular fascination with fitting and turning, it is measuring which matters most.

“My recent installations are fat drawings using bulk stocks of white plastic chain and blu-tac. I had to buy these materials. In my practice it is doctrinaire not to cut or glue unless I positively have to.”

In October 2004 Hubbard will take up residency at the Cite Internationale Des Arts, Paris where, for three months, she will be an urban gleaner.
